Fitness Testing

Due to statewide consistency, students this school year will be completing the Push-Up and Curl-Up tests instead of the Flex Arm Hang and Sit-Up tests to measure their muscular strength and endurance. Due to this change, fourth and fifth grade students have been encouraged not to compare scores from previous years because of the increased rigor of the statewide tests. The PACER/Mile Run (cardiovascular endurance) and Sit & Reach (flexibility) tests remain the same. Once baseline data has been gathered, students will be able to set goals and create a specific, realistic plan to improve their fitness. More information from the district will be forthcoming.
